Hendricks County jail deputy fired

DANVILLE —

A jail deputy was let go from his position at the Hendricks County Jail here after authorities say he used excessive force on an inmate. 

Hendricks County Sheriff's Department authorities confirmed Thursday that Kris Allen, 44, was fired from his position at the Hendricks County Jail on Tuesday.

According to information from the department, after an internal investigation, it was revealed that Allen, an eight-year veteran of the jail, had used “unreasonable force against an inmate.”

The inmate was identified as Chad Mitchell.

The case has been handed over to the Hendricks County Prosecutor’s Office. At this time, no other information is being released.
