INDIANAPOLIS — At 1:03 p.m. March 1, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) Officers were dispatched to 11000 Whistler Drive on the report of a person shot.
When officers arrived they found a male with apparent gunshot wounds outside of a grey Chevy Impala. Medics arrived on the scene and pronounced the victim deceased. His identity is being withheld at this time pending notification.
Investigators believe an argument ensued between the deceased and another subject outside the residence. The argument escalated resulting in gunfire. The shooter remained on scene and was taken into custody by assisting officers from the Cumberland Police Department. He was transported downtown by IMPD Homicide Detectives where he is awaiting questioning. The victims Grey-Chevy Impala will be processed by the Marion County Crime Lab for any evidence.
Detectives are still gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses in order to determine what led to this shooting.
