IMPD investigating Monday night shooting

INDIANAPOLIS — On Jan. 27, at around 9:30 p.m., Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) officers were dispatched to the area of East 38th St. and North Keystone Ave. on the report of shots fired. When officers arrived they found two people shot.

Both victims were shot while inside a car. The driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead on the scene. The passenger was taken to Eskenazi Hospital in serious, but stable condition. The victims are males.

IMPD later announced that one of the victims died and has been identified Troy Grayson, 38.

The extensive crime scene is being processed by the Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency and encompasses the northbound lane of North Keystone Ave. and the eastbound lane of E. 38th St.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to call the IMPD at 317-327-3475.   Those wishing to remain anonymous should call Crime Stoppers of Indiana at 262-TIPS (8477). Callers may also text “INDYCS” plus tip information to 274627 (CRIMES).

There will not be any further information available on this incident until tomorrow morning.
