INDIANAPOLIS — The JCC of Indianapolis presents the sixth annual Indianapolis Kids Triathlon and family fun day on June 30, beginning at 8 am.
This event is USAT-sanctioned and attracts youth from all over Indiana. Children of all athletic and experience levels are welcome.
The “Small Fry Division” is for children ages 6 and younger. This division will encourage parental assistance. A USAT license is not required for this division and participants will not be timed.
There will be a 25-yard swim (children must be able to swim independently), a 3.5-mile bike ride, and a .5-mile run with parental assistance.
The “Junior Divison” is for children ages 7 to 10. Participants will do a 100-yard swim, 3.5-mile bike ride, and .5-mile run. There can be no parental assistance in this division.
The “Senior Division” is for children ages 11 to 14. There will be a 200-yard swim, six-mile bike ride, and one-mile run. There can be no parental assistance in this division either.
A USAT license is required for the Junior and Senior divisions. A license may be purchased for $10 online at usatriathlon.org. Racing age is the participant’s age on Dec. 31, 2012.
Prizes will be awarded to the male and female winners of each age group. In addition, each participant will receive a medal after crossing the finish line.
Cost is $30 for the general public or $24 for JCC members through May 31. Those who register between June 1 and 24 will pay $35 for the general public or $30 for JCC members.

Packet Pick-Up is from 3 to 5 p.m. June 29 at the JCC’s East Membership Desk.
Participants and their families and guests are welcome to make a day of the race. All are invited to swim in the JCC’s own water park, the Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Water Park, play in a bounce house, and enjoy post-event refreshments.
