INDIANAPOLIS — At 7:07 p.m. Jan. 28, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) officers were called to 1856 North Rural Street, the Citgo gas station after a 911 call of a person shot.
When officers arrived they found two men shot; one was pronounced dead on the scene by medics, the other was taken to Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition. At 7:49 p.m., the second male died at the hospital.
Right now detectives believe the victims arrived at the gas station with two other men in a white Buick. At least one of the men got out of the car to go into the store when he and the other victim were shot by an unknown suspect. The suspect was outside at the time of the shooting and has been described as a black male, wearing all black clothing. The motive for this shooting is unknown.
Detectives are still gathering information and interviewing witnesses. The victim’s names and ages are not known at this time.
