INDIANAPOLIS — At about 10:18 p.m. Wednesday, officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) were dispatched to a gas station at the 5200 block of West Troy Ave. on a report of a person shot.
When officers arrived, they found a 45-year-old male suffering from at least one gunshot wound to the head. The victim, an employee of the business, was transported by EMS personnel to Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition. Another employee and two other customers were not injured. The suspect was last seen running from the business. Attempts to locate a suspect or a weapon, in the area surrounding the business, using IMPD’s K-9 Unit were unsuccessful.
Detectives are canvassing the area and speaking with witnesses. The Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency is processing the crime scene. Detectives have not yet provided a detailed suspect description due to vague descriptions.
