According to the Avon Police Department, Avon High School students will not face charges associated with the sharing of inappropriate images through social media.
The scandal broke earlier this month as several students were placed under disciplinary action for possessing nude pictures.
According to the Avon Police Department, investigators recovered several electronic images that were analyzed by detectives. The department said those who were involved in the investigation were cooperative.
Because of the actions taken by the school corporation, police said no criminal charges would be filed. The department removed all inappropriate images from the phones that were seized and those devices have been returned.
“Several steps have been taken to raise awareness to the secretive nature of modern ‘apps’ utilized to generate, store, and disseminate data from smartphone devices with the community and with the parties involved in this investigation,” the department wrote in a news release.
The department declined to discuss the case any further.
