Treat People Better award winner announced

---- — Son, husband, father, grandfather, surgeon, chief of staff, missionary, professor, pastoral assistant, volunteer, mentor, servant leader, and friend, are just a few words that describe Hendricks Regional Health Foundation 2013 Treat People Better Award recipient, Dr. Michael Pyle.

For his 30 years of work as a surgeon and teacher serving patients and students at HRH, in Illinois at Olivet Nazarene University, and around the world through medical missions, the Hendricks Regional Health Foundation will honor Pyle on Nov. 16.

The presentation will be made during the Treat People Better Award & Auction event.

Festivities begin at 5:30 p.m. at the Colts Pavilion, Indiana Farm Bureau Football Center. Proceeds from the event will purchase infant warmers for the hospital’s special care nursery.

In addition to the award presentation, the event also includes silent and live auctions, a diamond necklace raffle, and a wine pull.

A sell-out crowd of more than 320 guests is expected.

Doug Boles, president of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, is the evening’s emcee. Jack Lawson of Lawson & Company will return as auctioneer for the live auction items.

“We are happy to honor Dr. Pyle and excited to host this event to raise important funds to help babies get a healthy start to life,” Michelle Reed, a member of the HRH Foundation board and chair of the auction committee said in a press release. “With proceeds from this event and others throughout the year, we are happy to support Hendricks Regional Health, its caregivers, and quality health services provided with its signature ‘Treat People Better’ philosophy.”

Unique silent and live auction items include vacation condos, trips, Colts tickets, a Disney vacation including park-hopper tickets, jewelry, electronics, restaurant certificates, Broadway show tickets, family attraction and event tickets, original artwork, signed jerseys, hotel accommodations, and more.
