Police seek public help in west side robbery

INDIANAPOLIS — Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department are in search of two suspects involved in a robbery that occurred at 9:200 p.m. Oct. 30 at the Family Dollar store in the 3600 block of N. High School Rd.

Witnesses told authorities that two black males entered the store armed with what at first appeared to be black handguns and robbed employees of the store, the store, and customers of money and personal property.

Reports say the suspects were between 6 feet and 6 feet 2 inches tall wearing black jeans, black hoodies, blue latex gloves, and black masks covering the lower parts of their faces.

The suspects allegedly grabbed one of the employees around the neck and demanded they open the register and got away with a combined $225 from both registers.

One of the suspects stated that if the employee could not open the vault, that “his life would end.” While this was going on, another suspect was reportedly holding a customer and her son at gunpoint, eventually taking away her purse.

Other various items were also stolen. One of the suspects reportedly took the business’ cordless phone and forced an employee to go to the back office to phone the police before they left.

There is no further suspect information and there was no suspect vehicle information available.

Detectives urge anyone with information about the robbery or suspect’s identities to call the IMPD robbery division at 327-3475. Callers wishing to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 262-8477 or text INDYCS plus tip information to 274627.
