The City of Indianapolis’ Department of Public Works announced that a section of the western half of the Monon Trail from Broad Ripple Avenue to 63rd Street will be narrowed by a construction fence to allow utility installation work to begin Sept. 3 at 1002 Broad Ripple Ave.
This narrowing of the trail will only restrict southbound trail traffic. Detour signs will be placed at the intersections of Westfield and Winthrop, Broad Ripple Avenue and Winthrop, as well as on the Monon Trail to inform users of this temporary situation. The work should take no longer than two weeks, weather permitting.
Southbound trail users are asked to use the sidewalk on the west side of Winthrop to the south side of Broad Ripple Avenue, where they can safely reconnect with the Monon Trail.
