Patrons of the Hendricks County Health Department already use credit and debit cards to pay for environmental permits and birth and death certificates, but they are now able to use their cards to pay for immunizations and other clinical services provided by the department.
The health department is working with GovPayNet to make payment for services more convenient. Patrons are able to pay for all environmental permits for food establishments, tattoo/body piercing, septic systems, and swimming pools, as well as all clinical services, such as immunizations and TB tests.
“Consumers won’t have to wait until they can go to a bank to get cash or remember to bring their check book,” Dr. David Hadley, health officer for the department, said in a press release. “This increases our efficiency and improves service.”
GovPayNet accepts MasterCard, Visa, American Express, and Discover. GovPayNet charges a convenience fee based on the amount of the transaction. Patrons can still pay for services by cash or check.
The health department is at the Hendricks County Government Center, 355 S. Washington St., Danville. The office is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
For more information, call the Hendricks County Health Department Environmental Health Division at 745-9217 or the Nursing Division at 745-9222. Immunizations and TB tests are given by appointment.
