Woman shot outside northwest side daycare

INDIANAPOLIS — At about 7:30 a.m. Tuesday morning, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) officers were dispatched to a northwest side daycare after reports of shots fired.

When officers arrived at the KinderCare, located at 6750 Eagle View Drive, they found a female victim in the parking lot, next to her vehicle, who had been shot multiple times.

The victim was later identified as Shirley Justice, 31, of Indianapolis, and was transported to IU Methodist Hospital in critical condition.

Before being transported, she was able to tell IMPD officers that her ex-husband Christopher Justice, 33, had shot her.

According to information from the IMPD, Shirley had just dropped her two children inside the daycare prior to the shooting. No children were harmed during the incident.

Investigators are currently searching for Christopher Justice, who is described as a 6’1” black male weighing about 180 lbs, and may be driving a black 2006 Ford Fusion with Indiana “In God We Trust” plate number UXR330 with a 2014 expiration.

Anyone who was at or near the scene of this incident and may have witnessed what occurred is asked to call the IMPD Homicide Branch at 327-3475.  Anyone who knows the whereabouts of Christopher Justice should call 911 or Crime Stoppers at 262-TIPS (8477).
