Poison's Bret Michaels to open new Indy-area venue

Country, R&B, and classic rock artists complete lineup

ANDERSON — Hoosier Park Racing & Casino’s new Terrace Showroom indoor venue recently announced that its first performer will be Bret Michaels, lead singer of the band Poison. Michaels will kick-off the venue’s list of four concert dates on Nov. 23.

Better known as the frontman for the band Posion, Michaels is also an actor, producer, and reality television personality. He first gained fame as the lead vocalist of the band Poison, who has gone on to sell more than 30 million records worldwide. In total, Poison charted 10 singles in the Top 40, including six Top 10 singles and the number-one single “Every Rose Has Its Thorn,” which Michaels wrote.

All shows will begin at 8 p.m. The complete list of acts set to perform is as follows:

• Nov. 23, Bret Michaels

• Dec. 14, The Pointer Sisters

• Jan. 17, Josh Turner

• Feb. 22, Cheap Trick

Hoosier Park’s new indoor venue opened this month after four months of construction. The new venue was designed to provide concertgoers the big venue comfort and sound with all of the personal service and attention to detail of an intimate concert experience.

The 1,200-seat, state-of-the-art indoor facility features custom built and cushioned theater-style seating, an arena quality light and sound system, and a full service dining section. One of the venue’s more unique elements are 20 luxurious private suites complete with personal 32-inch HDTVs and modern, relaxing lounge furniture.

“Over the past five years, Hoosier Park guests have been giving us suggestions for a new indoor venue,” said Jahnae Erpenbach, Hoosier Park’s vice president and general manager of gaming. “With their collective input, we built the new Terrace Showroom to give each and every guest a more thrilling experience featuring the biggest names in entertainment — from national touring music acts and comedy shows to noteworthy speakers and authors.”
