Hoosier Park sets summer concert series

Hoosier Park Racing & Casino announced the addition of six-time Grammy winning group Earth, Wind, & Fire to its lineup of annual summer concerts, presented by Coors Light.

In addition to Earth, Wind, & Fire, performers include Heart, Little Big Town, and the Doobie Brothers in a series of national headlining acts at Hoosier Park’s outdoor music center.

Earth, Wind, & Fire’s music spans multiple genres, from soul and blues, to funk and rock. Founded in Chicago in 1969, the band has earned 20 Grammy nominations, winning six Grammy Awards and four American Music Awards as a group. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees have sold more than 90 million records during the last five decades, and are known for such hits as “That’s the Way of the World,” “Shining Star,” “Devotion,” “September,” and “Let’s Groove.”

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson, made history with their female-led rock band, Heart, over the last five decades with hits such as “Crazy on You,” “Alone,” “Barracuda,” and “What About Love.” The four-time Grammy nominated group’s discography has achieved multi-platinum status, selling more than 35 million records worldwide.

Little Big Town — consisting of Karen Fairchild, Phillip Sweet, Kimberly Schlapman, and Jimi Westbrook — first entered the music scene more than 14 years ago with hits such as “Boondocks,” “Bring It On Home,” “Good As Gone” and “Little White Church.” The quartet’s fifth studio album, “Tornado,” recently received platinum certification and includes the two-time platinum-selling No. 1 hit “Pontoon” and follow-up No. 1 single and title-track “Tornado.” The Nashville-based group has charted 14 songs on the Billboard Hot Country Songs list and has won three CMA and ACM awards. In 2013, the group took home its first Grammy award for “Pontoon” in the Best Country Group/Duo Performance category.
