The Hendricks Symphonic Society’s season consists of six concerts plus a free chamber music concert in January. In November, the Hendricks Symphonic Choir will perform a series of hymns and anthems. Handel’s masterpiece, “The Messiah,” will be presented in December. The B’s concert, held in February, will feature Brahms, Borodin, Britten, and Bernstein, among others. In March, the choir will present Lenten music, and the season finishes with works by Beethoven in May.
Information regarding the concerts and season tickets can be found online at www.hendrickssymphonic.org. Season tickets are $50 for adults, $90 per couple, $20 per student, and $110 per family. Individual concert prices $12.50 in advance for adults or $15 at the door, and includes a service fee; students $7 at the door/$5.50 in advance; and seniors 65 and older $12.
Most concerts are performed at Avon Middle School South, however note any change of venue on the website or your ticket. Performance times are 7:30 p.m. Fridays or 3 p.m. Sundays.
“Featuring the Organ” is one of the concerts held at another site for the obvious reason that the school does not have space for an instrument that requires a room to itself. These performances are 7:30 p.m. Oct. 4 and 3 p.m. Oct. 6 at Calvary United Methodist Church, 575 W. Northfield Drive, Brownsburg.
