— Game Night at Pike will take place at 6 p.m. Oct. 17. Individuals of all ages are invited for an evening of fun by playing games brought in themselves or provided by the Library.

— Barks to Books at Pike will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 19. Beginning or struggling young readers are invited to read to a trained therapy dog for a 15-minute session. Studies have shown that a child’s confidence and competence increase when reading to a patient and non-judgmental canine listener.

— Pike Book Club will take place at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 21. Adults are invited to this monthly book discussion program. The book to be discussed is “People of the Book” by Geraldine Brooks.

— Preschool Stories Galore will take place at 10:30 a.m. Oct. 15, 22, and 29.

Preschoolers ages 2 to 5 and an adult are invited to have fun listening

to stories and singing songs. During the second and fourth programs each month, they’ll also create a craft.

— Baby Steps Storytime at Wayne will take place at 11 a.m. Oct. 24, 31.

Babies and toddlers up to 2 years old and an adult are invited for stories, popular rhymes, fingerplays and songs.

— Rhyme Time will take place at 10:30 a.m. Oct. 17. Babies and toddlers with an adult

are invited to rhyme their way to reading. They’ll join Miss Elaine and

Express Kids for fun and rhyming through music and sign language.

— Basics of Magic will take place at 6 p.m. Oct. 21. Children ages 8 and up are invited to try their hand at learning magic tricks during this fun

workshop presented by Don Miller. An adult may accompany the child to help them remember the tricks they learn. Call 275-4530 to register.

— Star Wars Origami Workshop will take place at 4 p.m. Oct. 22. Children ages 9 and up are invited to get folding during this program presented by Art With

a Heart. Those who attend will learn basic folds and create out-of-this-world masterpieces. Call 275-4530 to register.
