— Rhyme Time will take place at 10:30 a.m. Oct. 30. Babies and toddlers with an adult are invited to rhyme their way to reading. Those who attend will join Miss Elaine and Express Kids for fun and rhyming through music and sign language.
— Job Center at the library will take place from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Oct. 15, 16, 22, 23, 29 and 30. In partnership with WorkOne and EmployIndy, the library presents a free service for unemployed or underemployed individuals to receive one-on-one assistance to enhance their employment skills. The session will focus on job search strategies, interviewing skills, resume development, and instruction on basic computer skills.

— Romance Potluck Book Group will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. Oct. 16. Adults are invited to this monthly discussion group based on various romantic themes and authors. This month’s theme is, “Romantic Comfort Food.” No matter how bad a day has been, cuddling up with a romance novel can make it better.
— Computer Tips & Tricks: Open Lab will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Oct. 17. Adults are invited to bring questions or problems relating to using a computer, including applications such as Word or Excel, along with using e-mail or the Internet. One-on-one help will be provided.
— Indiana Authors Fair: Getting Started will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. Oct. 19. Adults who are thinking about writing or wishing to connect with other local writers are invited to this workshop presented by the
Writers Center of Indiana. Those who attend will participate in writing exercises and lively conversation about writing and the writing life that will jump-start the process of becoming a writer. This program is presented in connection with the Indiana Authors Fair and will be also held Oct. 26 at Central Library.
