— Preschool Storytime at Decatur will take place at 10:30 a.m. Oct. 16, 22, 23, 29 and 30. Preschoolers and an adult are invited for stories and activities.

— Weather Wonders: Preschool Science Workshop will take place at 10:30 a.m. today. Preschoolers ages 3 to 6 are invited to get swept away by taking a closer look at the weather. Those who attend will learn about temperature, experiment with a Mad Science Pet Tornado, and see the different types of clouds. Registration is required. Call 275-4330 to register.

— ALA Teen Read Week: Ghostbusters will take place at 3:30 p.m. today. As part of ALA Teen Read Week, which features the theme, “Seek the Unknown,” teens are invited to a special movie night to view the film, “Ghostbusters.”

— ALA Teen Read Week: Haunted Indianapolis will take place at 5:30 p.m. today. As part of ALA Teen Read Week, which features the theme, “Seek the Unknown,” teens are invited to learn about local haunted sites during a program presented by authors of the book, “Ghost Hunter’s Guide to Indianapolis.”

— Basics of Magic will take place at 1 p.m. Oct. 26. Children ages 8 and up are invited to try their hand at learning magic tricks during this fun workshop presented by Don Miller. An adult may accompany the child to help them remember the tricks they learn. Call 275-4330 to register.

— Second Chance Series . . . Everybody Deserves a Second Chance! will take place from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Oct. 28. Adults are invited to a series hosted by District 68 Indiana State Representative Jud McMillin that will give them an opportunity to learn about House Bill 1482, which took effect July 1. It describes several levels of expungement for different levels of crime. Misdemeanors can be expunged five years after a conviction, while those convicted of class D felonies or higher must wait at least eight years to petition for expungement. Participating in this session will be District 91 Indiana State Representative Robert Behning and District 35 Indiana State Senator Michael Young.
