Rock-It To A Cure presents Black Stone Cherry in charity concert

Proceeds benefit Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation

— Mayor Greg Ballard of Indianapolis and Gov. Pence of Indiana have officially proclaimed Nov. 2 as Rock-It To A Cure Day for the city of Indianapolis and the state of Indiana.

The charity event will hit The Athenaeum Theater on Nov. 2 in downtown Indianapolis for its third annual event with all proceeds going to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

This year, Rock-It To A Cure presents international recording artist Black Stone Cherry as the event headliner. They are fresh off of their 2013 national headlining tour, having spent part of their summer as the special guest of the Lynyrd Skynyrd/Bad Company 40th Anniversary Tour.

In June, they headlined Download , the U.K.'s premier rock festival. They have released three studio albums and three EPs and have charted eight singles on the U.S.Mainstream Rock Track Charts. They debuted No. 1 on the U.K. rock chart with their 2008 sophomore release, "Folklore and Superstition." They are currently in studio recording their fourth album, due for release in 2014. They are signed with Roadrunner Records.



With doors opening at 7 p.m., the concert will also feature as special guests two of Indy's best live local bands, PictureYes at 8 p.m. and Reaul at 8:45 p.m.

This year's celebrity emcee will be Rupert Boneham, president of Ruperts Kids, Inc. Boneham is a four-time contestant of TV's "Survivor" and has won the million dollar prize having been voted Fan Favorite. He is currently appearing on "Survivor: Blood vs Water."



Featured this year will also be an invitation-only meet and greet before the concert with Boneham, Black Stone Cherry, Reaul, and PictureYes.
