Lauren Elizabeth Widau and Christopher Thomas Surfus were married March 8 at Our Shepherd Lutheran Church in Avon.
The bride is the daughter of John and Jackie Widau of Avon. She graduated from Avon High School in 2008 and from Butler University with a master’s degree in physician assistant studies in ‘13. She works as an emergency room physician assistant for Major Hospital/Lafayette Emergency Physicians.
The groom is the son of Tom and Kay Surfus, also of Avon. He graduated from Avon High School in 2009 and from IUPUI with a bachelor of science degree in economics in ‘13. He works in the accounting department for Simon Property Group.
Rebecca Widau, sister of the bride, served as honor attendant. Bridal attendants were Allison Grana, Trish Surfus, Cindy Zimmerman and Kathleen Surfus.
Jared Swihart and Dave McKinney served as co-best men. Jim Ropa and Bendon Widau served as groomsmen.
Flower girls were Alex Meyerholtz and Isabelle Bradbury and the ring bearer was “Linus” the dog.
Following the ceremony, the couple enjoyed a reception with family and friends at the Propylaeum in Indianapolis.
Mr. and Mrs. Surfus honeymooned in St. Lucia. The couple now resides in Indianapolis.
