Avon’s Megan Hunt and Lexi Short scored the other two points on free throws, one in each quarter. Short finished the game with 10 rebounds and six points.
Avon put up 10 points in the fourth, but Brownsburg led 42-16 to open the third and scored 13 in the quarter.
Brownsburg had three scorers finish in double digits. Walker recorded a game-high 15 points to go along with six rebounds and Stowers finished with 10.
Brownsburg’s Hannah Mingus tallied 10 points and grabbed 15 rebounds for a double-double.
“(Hannah) is very strong and very smart,” Brauman said. “She does a good job getting into position and she’s used to battling against people that are bigger than her. We need her to get on the boards and help us out.”
Brownsburg (3-0) hosts Lafayette Jeff at 1:30 p.m. next Saturday while Avon (0-2) travels to Greenfield-Central at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
