— Two county teams won sectional titles this season as Brownsburg and Danville advanced to the regional round of play.
The Bulldogs fell in the final to undefeated Cathedral while Brebeuf took down the Warriors.
There was no shortage of good players to choose from for an all-county baseball team as several schools had solid seasons. Three nominees return from last year with one getting the nod for his third straight all-county selection.
Brownsburg tops the list with four selections after its strong postseason run and 18-10 record. Senior shortstop Mike Hartnagel hit .475 while scoring 36 runs to go along with eight doubles, five triples, and five homeruns. He also tallied 24 RBI along with 17 stolen bases.
Junior outfielder/pitcher Tyler Houston hit .453 while recording 39 hits in conjunction with 30 runs, 10 doubles, three triples, and six homeruns. Houston had 34 RBI and also got it done from the mound with a 6-0 record, 1.14 ERA with 27 Ks in 37 innings.
Senior second baseman/pitcher Haden Shipman hit .470, scored 18 runs while recording 22 RBI with five doubles, three homeruns and nine stolen bases. While on the mound, Shipman went 1-1 with a 2.57 ERA with two saves.
Senior outfielder Garrett Isch hit .440 on 33 hits, scored 25 runs with 18 RBI while collecting 10 doubles and six stolen bases.
Plainfield made it to the sectional final, ended with a 17-11 record — the second best mark in the county — and garnered three nominations.
Junior first baseman Gabe Burkhardt led the Quakers while hitting .376 with 21 RBI along with eight doubles and a homerun.
Senior Outfielder Matt Spaulding hit .341 and brought in 20 RBI along with eight doubles, two triples and three homeruns while setting the school record in runs (34).
Senior outfielder Dillon Hughes returns to the all-county team for the second consecutive year. Hughes hit .346 with 22 RBI and recorded six doubles, five triples, two homeruns and tallied 24 runs to go along with 13 stolen bases.
