The league/tournament runs through February and March and participants must be 16 or older to participate.

Cost is $20 per team and the entry deadline is Feb. 1.

RPBC holds fundraiser

The Red Pride Booster Club is holding its sixth annual Monte Carlo Night fundraiser from 6:30 to 11 p.m. Feb. 16 at Plainfield Metropolis Mall.

Admission is $5, which includes food and beverages.

Games will include black jack, roulette, Texas poker, over/under, and side pick-up games.

A Texas hold ‘em tournament starts at 7 p.m. with a $30 buy-in for 10K chips; $5 gets an additional 5K in chips. Chips must be purchased prior to the start of the tournament.

Raffle tickets are available at the school through Athletic Director Dana Green and are $25. The drawing will be at 10:30 p.m. and winners do not need to be present to win.

Proceeds will benefit Plainfield High School student-athletes and provide college scholarships to graduating senior athletes.

 

DGSA offers sign-ups

The Danville Girls Softball Association is holding its 2013 spring registration.

Cost is $40 for 6U coach pitch, $65 for 8U coach pitch, $80 for 12U fast pitch, and $80 for 14U fast pitch.

The season runs from April to June.

MCOC holds contest

The Mill Creek Optimist Club is holding its annual Tri-Star Basketball Contest from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Feb. 16 at the Cascade Middle School Gym.

Contestants must reside in the Mill Creek School District and is open for boys and girls ages 8 to 13 years old.

There is no charge to participate.

The Avon Junior Athletic Association spring sports registration is now open to Washington Township residents.

    Avon’s Patrick Rodgers made the cut at last week’s RBC Canadian Open at Royal Montreal Golf Club, and was a solid 4-under par on holes 1-11 over the weekend. It was the remaining holes that were the problem, as he went 7-over on those to finish at even-par and tied for 62nd place.
