Both the Danville and Tri-West boys’ and girls’ cross country squads participated in the Sagamore Conference meet Thursday night at Southmont and finished with mixed results.
Danville’s girls placed fourth with 90 points while Tri-West’s were sixth with 118. Western Boone (47) took first, Frankfort finished second and Lebanon (90) was third.
Tri-West’s Carrie Chappell won the girls’ event with her time of 21:51. Melanie Foreman led Danville, finishing fifth in a time of 23:25.
Brooke Snoeberger (9th), Erin Boles (35th), Molly Henley (36th) and Madison Warden (37th) made up the rest of the Bruins’ scoring.
Molly Clark (11th), Heather Kilburn (20th), Vanessa Denny (23rd), Abigail Pitman (31st), Claire Gilbert (33rd), and Meaghan Hutte (38th) contributed to Warriors’ final score.
Danville’s boys finished fifth, scoring 132 points while Tri-West took seventh with 147.
Frankfort (35) won the conference title, Western Boone (60) took second and Crawfordsville (78) placed third.
Danville’s Sam Bratton led the boys’ runners with his seventh-place finish in a time of 18:14. Teammates Brandon Siller (17th), Tyler Townsend (29th), John Richardson (30th), and Denver Kasmer (49th) made up the rest of the Warriors’ scoring.
Chris Wright was Tri-West’s top finisher, coming in 21st (19:59). The rest of the Bruins’ score was made up by Justin Wright (25th), Keiland Cooper (31st), Cory Hagemier (32nd), Matt Knights (38th), Ian Williams (41st) and Spencer Albaugh (45th).
Both of these teams, along with the rest of the county squads, meet Tuesday for the Hendricks County meet at Danville.
