Walton’s last basket of the half pulled the Bulldogs to within three at 18-15 with 1:53 left. With Mooresville leading 21-15, Lucas rebounded a Darrian Ringo 3-point attempt and went up and under to score with 39 ticks before the break.
Walton then stole two Pioneers’ passes and fed Ringo and Lucas on breakaway layups to tie the game at 21 at the half.
Brownsburg came out on fire in the third as Walton connected on a jumper and then drove for a basket. A Lucas steal and subsequent lay-in gave the Bulldogs a 27-21 lead less than a minute into the third.
But headed to the fourth, Brownsburg led by only two, 36-34.
The Bulldogs opened up 0 for 7 from the floor and Walton dropped in all of Brownsburg’s points until Lucas hit the shot to send the game to OT.
Brownsburg will try to continue its momentum with a sectional title on the line Saturday against Martinsville at 7 p.m. The two teams have not played this season.
Brownsburg is seeking its first sectional title since the 2007-08 season when it won the state championship.
