The Warrior boys’ swim team recently defeated Southmont, 94-89. Placing for Danville were Dylan Porter with two wins, Jesse Cox with three wins and a second, Will Nuss with three wins and a third, Keegan O’Brien with one win, a second, and two third-place finishes, Jack Clark with four wins, and Isaiah Byers with a win and two second places.

Seventh-grade girls’ basketball
The Orioles recently lost to Danville 33-19. Leading the way was Caroline Yoder with seven points and six rebounds. Katie Thompson and Molly Watson added four points each.
Avon recently lost to Tri-West 36-18. Katie Thompson finished the night with eight points and 10 rebounds. Mikayla Rodriguez added four points.
Eighth-grade girls’ basketball
The Orioles recently defeated Tri-West 51-8. Macy Stumm led the scoring with 12 points, Stacie Shelton added nine points and eight rebounds and Haylie Foster recorded seven.
The Avon Middle School South wrestling team recently defeated Avon Middle School North 59-50. James Betzold started the night out with a pin for South, followed by wins from Lance Ellington, Kaden Roberts, Aaron Conde, Jacob Clark, Christian Schabel, Spencer Strobel,and Drew Williamson. Caleb Alvarez added a last-second pin in the third period, and Kam Caudle won in dramatic fashion with a takedown in overtime. Nick Rapped sealed the victory with a pin in the final match of the evening.

Winning for Avon South were James Betzold, Connor Beswick, Lance Ellington, Camden Gongwer, Noah Driskell, Caleb Alvarez, Aaron Conde, Christian Schabel, Jacob Clark, Spencer Strobel, Kam Caudle, Drew Williamson, and Nick Rapp.
The Avon Middle School South wrestling team recently competed in the Wayne Township Invitational, finishing fifth out of 12 teams. Finishing eighth were Bailey Childers, Lance Ellington, and Camden Gongwer. Placing seventh weas Conner Beswick. Coming in sixth were James Boetzold and Andrew Frank. Taking fifth were Avery Cochran, Noah Driskell, and Kam Caudle. Jacob Clark, Spencer Strobel, Christian Schabel, and Nick Rapp placed third. Three Avon South wrestlers — Wil Shriner, Aaron Conde, and Caleb Alvarez — made the tournament finals. Shriner and Conde finished second and Alvarez avenged a loss earlier in the tournament to finish the day in first place.
