ACST holds registration

The Avon Community Swim Team will hold open enrollment for both its competitive and learn to swim programs.

Registration and practice for the competitive swim program is from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Aug. 19.

Registration and evaluation for the Learn to Swim program are from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Aug. 28 and 29. Practices will be on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, beginning Sept. 3.

Participants should enter the Avon High School pool from Door 21 and bring a swimsuit, goggles and towel.

DJBL offers hoops sign-up

The Danville Junior Basketball League has opened online registration for the 2013-14 youth basketball season. Boys and girls in grades kindergarten through six may register to play in the DJBL recreational league that begins in late October.

Girls in grades three through eight looking to play travel basketball will need to register and attend tryouts today and tomorrow to be considered for selection. These teams participate in the Indy Girls Hoops League.

Boys in grades three through six looking to play travel basketball in the Indy Hoops boys’ league will need to register and attend tryouts in mid-September.

AJAA volleyball sign-up set

The Avon Junior Athletic Association (AJAA) is currently registering online until Aug. 21 for its fall volleyball programs.

Registration is open to Washington Township girls in fourth through eighth grades and also offers a coed league for players in grades nine through 12.
