Seniors take trip

to Hoosier Park

Hendricks County Senior Services is organizing a trip to Hoosier Park’s spacious, single-level casino on April 15.

The casino features 2,000 slot machines and the most e-table games in the Midwest in denominations ranging from a penny to $100.

The trip is $30 per person. Participants will be transported in a deluxe motorcoach and receive free admission, a $5 coupon for food, and a $10 gambling credit.

The bus will leave at 9 a.m. from the Hendricks County Senior Center, 1201 Sycamore Lane, Danville, and return at about 5:30 p.m.

The fee for the trip is non-refundable but is transferable. Payment is due no later than March 28.

To make a reservation, call Sharon Severy at 745-4303.

Quit Group meets

at senior center

Hendricks County Senior Services invites anyone interested in quilting to attend its new Quilt Group. Participants range in experience from 40 plus years to only one or two years.

Members learn from each other and share their quilting experience. Both men and women are invited to attend.

The Quilt Group meets from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at the Hendricks County Senior Center, 1201 Sycamore Lane, Danville.

For more information, call HCSS at 745-4303.

Strong for Life

offered in Danville

Strong for Life is a strengthening exercise program designed by physical therapists for use by older adults to improve strength, balance, and overall health. The program targets specific muscles that are important in every day movements, such as getting out of a chair and walking.

The class is 10:30 a.m. Monday, Tuesday, and Friday of each week at the Hendricks County Senior Center.

The class itself is free, but there is an initial fee for equipment such as bands and handles of $4 per person. As a participant’s strength improves and they move to a stronger band, they may be purchased for $2.
