Susan said they hope Seniors Helping Seniors will be become the first place people turn to for help.
“We offer all types of non-medical in-home services to help both those who give services and those who receive them to stay active and involved,” she said.
She quotes a Harvard University study that showed that 95 percent of people interviewed want to “age in place” and stay in their own homes as long as possible.
Philip and Kiran Yocom co-founded Seniors Helping Seniors in-home services, which began as a non-profit organization serving Berks County, Pa., more than 10 years ago. The original Seniors Helping Seniors center continues that tradition, providing more than 1,000 hours of service every month.
The organization has grown to more than 150 franchises in more than 35 states.
