Wayne Township Adult Basic Education is again offering English as a Second Language (ESL) classes at the Brownsburg Public Library from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays.
High School Equivalency (formerly GED) classes are also offered from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesdays and Thursdays and from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at the library.
A youth class for 16- and 17-year-olds meets at the library from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Classes are also held from 9 a.m. to noon Mondays and Wednesdays at the Avon-Washington Township Public Library and from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays at Plainfield Middle School.
The classes provide instruction in reading, math, language, writing, and High School Equivalency Assessment preparation.
All classes are provided free of charge to eligible students who are at least 16. Interested persons younger than 18 must be officially withdrawn from public school and must present exit papers at the time of registration.
Anyone interested in attending any of the classes may call the Adult Basic Education office at 852-3167, ext. 130, by June 19 to make a registration appointment.
