Foundation gives books to kindergarten students

Plainfield Community Schools Legacy Foundation (PCSLF) presented a book to every kindergartner at the Clarks Creek Elementary, Van Buren Elementary, Brentwood Elementary, and Central Elementary.

The Plainfield Community Schools Legacy Foundation strives to enhance and enrich the educational experiences of all students throughout the school corporation through the allocation of private resources. As schools deal with deep budget cuts, the work of the legacy foundation becomes even more important.

“The mission of the Plainfield Community Schools Legacy Foundation is ‘to enhance and enrich the education of all students in the Plainfield Community Schools,’” said PCSLF President Nancy Haskell, in a press release. “To that end, the foundation has presented a book to each kindergarten student. This is the fifth year for the project, and will be continued in the future. Board members enjoy going to the classrooms and sharing in the delight of the children through hugs and thank you’s. The children are very excited to have a book of their very own.”

For more information about the event or for sponsorship opportunities, contact Shannon Mullen, Plainfield Community Schools Legacy Foundation at 613-5013 or shannonms91@yahoo.com; or Polly Landis, Plainfield Community Schools Legacy Foundation resource development chair, at 258-4543.
