— Emily Chesney, a 2013 graduate of Brownsburg High School, recently auditioned for and made the Purduettes, which she will join when she begins attending Purdue University in the fall.
The Purduettes are the top women’s choir at the university.
Chesney is the daughter of Shawn and Kathy Chesney. During her choir career at BHS under teachers Debi Prather and Melissa Stainbrook, she was a part of the state championship Bel Canto Women’s Choir during her sophomore year.
By her junior year, she was named president of Bel Canto and they finished second in the state. As a senior, she was a member of the Madrigal Concert Choir and the Spotlight Singers Show Choir.
In addition to her musical accomplishments, she plans to major in behavioral neuroscience and minor in German while at Purdue.
