CLAYTON — CascadeHigh Schoolis participating in the Pennies for Patients fundraising campaign. The project started Feb. 7 and is running through Feb. 25.
CHS has participated in the program for several years, earning the honor of being the top fundraising school in the state just a few years ago. With the help of students and the community, participants hope to repeat that honor this year. The school’s goal is to raise $1,500.
Each year, thousands of schools join The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s School & Youth Programs — Pennies for Patients, Olive Garden’s Pasta for Pennies, and HOP for Leukemia — to experience learning, fun, service, and teamwork while joining in the fight against cancer.
For more than 14 years, School & Youth Programs have given students the opportunity to experience the feeling that comes from working together to help others. Schools raise awareness and funds in honor of local patients battling a blood cancer like leukemia.
Anyone who would like to contribute is asked to call Rosie Fakes at CHS at 539-9315 ext. 744.
