Mildred “Fern” (Mishler) Brown of Clayton and formerly of Clay City died March 8. She was 95.
Born March 17, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Edgar O. and Lillie “May” (Heath) Mishler.
She worked for the Clay City Farm Bureau and was later a house keeper at Meadows Manor in Terre Haute.
Mrs. Brown attended various local churches throughout her life. She enjoyed collecting salt and pepper shakers, sewing, wind chimes, and bird watching.
She is survived by her daughter, Anita Kay (Lewis) (Brown) Peterman; grandchildren, Kristina (Zach) (Peterman), Marion Peterman, Alicia Peterman, and Jonny Sayer, all of Clayton; great grandchild, Kaydence Lind of Clayton; and several nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ernest Mishler; and sister, Fay Miller.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. March 15 in Schoppenhorst Funeral Home, 301 East Eighth St., Clay City. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be from noon until time of service in the funeral home.
