Tax burden falls on poor
There has been much discussion about executive compensation, especially for those companies that received taxpayer funding. There has also been a lot of discussion regarding paying for universal health care without increasing taxes or the deficit (recall the Obama campaign wanting to raise taxes on those earning more that $250,000 per year?).

Public schools deserve credit
During every election cycle, a debate is always re-kindled if the public schools are worth anything. Charter schools or the vouchers essentially surface among the top choices. However, great public schools operating in our community do not get enough credit for their hard work and perseverance, and they are marginalized with rest of the public schools in Indiana.

Church thanks community
The Danville Christian Church would like to thank everyone who helped with our annual charity sale. This year we raised over $8,100! Our total amount for the last five years is over $23,000.

Record time to nowhere
No doubt about it, Barack Obama is the president of the future. The worrisome part is that he may always be. If there is a presidential decision that can be put off, a bold new policy that can be negotiated into just a continuation of the old, a way to change momentum into inertia ... this president’s your man.

I’m even tuning myself out
A few months ago, someone smashed in my truck window and stole my radio, depriving me of news, weather, sports, traffic every 10 minutes, and much more music, although with all that other stuff going on it’s hard to see how.

Obama the graceless
Republicans needn’t trouble themselves to nominate a presidential candidate in 2012. No matter what, President Barack Obama will be running against George W. Bush.
