Lillie P. Hellmer died Thursday at the age of 73, following a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Hellmer graduated from Ben Davis High School and Indiana Central College (University of Indianapolis). She worked as a cost analyst for Indiana Bell and a trainer and cost analyst for AT&T before retiring from AT&T management in 1990.
She was an avid golfer and a member of the Cool Lake Golf Club and the Sahm Ladies Golf League.
She was also a devoted caregiver to her surviving mother, Penola B. Gray.
Additional survivors include her husband of 39 years, Michael; a sister, Bennie Steinhauer; sisters-in-law Joellen Crotzer (Jerry) and Mary Hellmer; nephews Rick Steinhauer (Teri), Dennis Gray (Lisa), David Crotzer (Rebecca), Bryan Crotzer (Sarah), and Michael Crotzer (Jennifer); nieces Penny Steinhauer (Kevin), Christine Gray, and Victoria Turner (Kevin); and her lifelong best friends, Patricia Miller and Betty Ramsey.
Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Daniel F. O’Riley Funeral Home, 6107 S. E. St. (U.S. 31 South), Indianapolis, IN 46227. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery.
Calling is for an hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
