Dale Robert “Bob” Smith of Stilesville died Jan. 25. He was 68.
Born Sept. 20, 1944, he was a son of James R. and Mary Lee (Love) Smith.
Mr. Smith worked 31 years as a jet engine tester for Allisons Division of General Motors before retiring in 1998.
He was a member of Stilesville Christian Church, taught Sunday School Youth Group, and coached Little League. He was a collector of trains and enjoyed restoring old cars. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and traveling to Michigan with his wife.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Ann (Topie) Smith; sons Jeffrey (Angela), Timothy (Janet), and Larry Smith; a brother, James (Linda) Smith; grandchildren Christopher (Lindsey), Colin (Katherine), and Dylan Smith and Nadean (Clint) Himsel; and great-grandchildren Bristol Himsel and Cooper Smith.
Services are 10 a.m. Wednesday at Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home in Plainfield. Interment will be at Stilesville Cemetery.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
