Katherine L. Gibbs

Katherine L. Gibbs of Plainfield died Friday. She was 86.

Born May 13, 1926, in Knightstown, she was a daughter of the late B.A. and Anna Smith. She married E.E. “Gene” Gibbs on Nov. 2, 1946, and he survives.

Mrs. Gibbs was a homemaker. She was a member of Belleville Methodist Church, collected bells, and enjoyed reading, playing euchre, and gambling. She was a longtime volunteer at Hendricks Regional Health.

Additional survivors include children Mike Gibbs, Kathy Wills, and Susan Burch; seven grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

Private services will be held.

Hall-Baker Funeral Home in Plainfield is handling arrangements.
