Ervin W. Stegemoller died Wednesday at the age of 88.
Born April 14, 1925, in Indianapolis, he was a son of the late Harvey and Daisy Stegemoller. He married Marjorie L. Klepfer on Dec. 12, 1946, and she survives.
Mr. Stegemoller graduated from Ben Davis High School. He served as a medic in the U.S. Army in the Philippines during World War II. He worked at Allison Transmission for 23 years, retiring in 1993.
Mr. Stegemoller was a member and served on the board at Westside Church of the Nazarene. While working in Campinas, Brazil, he and his wife founded the Campinas Central Church of the Nazarene, which is now the largest Nazarene church in the world.
Additional survivors include children Ronald K. Stegemoller, Janis D. Gearhart, Carol E. Ralph, and Randy D. Stegemoller; a sister, Patty Maxwell; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Preceding hin in death were sisters Mary Stoneking and Lola Fox, and a brother, Edward Stegemoller.
Services are 2 p.m. today at Westside Church of the Nazarene, 8610 W. 10th St., Indianapolis, with visitation there for two hours prior to services. Interment will be at Floral Park Cemetery.
