Carl B. Broman of Plainfield died April 26 in Sugar Grove Senior Living. He was 89.

Born May 13, 1923, in Silver Creek, Minn., he was the son of Carl J. and Hilda Johnson Broman.

Mr. Broman was a Coast Guard veteran. He served as radar chief for the Federal Aviation Administration for 33 years in Indianapolis, retiring in 1979. His memberships included Plainfield United Methodist Church and Plainfield Elks Lodge 2186.

Survivors include his children, Carl R. Broman, Robert A. Broman, Karen Y. Taber, Susan R. Goodwin, Marlys D. Vaccari, and Craig B. Broman; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

His wife, Verona Broman, preceded him in death.

Services are 6:30 p.m. May 14 in Plainfield United Methodist Church, with visitation there from 5 p.m. until service time. Hall-Baker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
