David P. Short died Friday at his Coatesville home. He was 70.

Born Dec. 30, 1942, in Indianapolis, he was a son of the late Isaiah and Bessie (Spear) Short. He married Pamela Sue Hopper on April 25, 1981, and she survives.

Mr. Short worked 30 years as a sheet metal worker at the Chrysler Foundry in Indianapolis before retiring in 2007.

He was a member of Whitestone Christian Church.

Additional survivors include children Angela Marie Johnston of Danville, Audra Frezza of Avon, and Andra Martinez of Avon; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Louise Trammel of Thompkinsville, Ky.

Services are 4 p.m. Oct. 5 at Whitestone Christian Church, 8045 W. U.S. 36, Coatesville, with the Rev. Harlan Kincade officiating.

Calling is for two hours prior to the service at the church.
Weaver & Randolph Funeral Home in Danville is handling arrangements.
