Avinell "Nell" Miller of Danville died Monday at the Villages of Avon. She was 79.
Born April 13, 1933, in Barbourville, Ky., she was a daughter of the late John Thomas and Lela Mae Pritchard Farmer. She married Cecil G. Miller on April 8, 1950, and he died in 1998.
Mrs. Miller worked 40 years as a CNA at several nursing homes, before retiring in 1997.
She was a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Avon and the Danville American Legion Post No. 118 Auxiliary.
Survivors include daughters Linda Lawyer and Pam Williams of Danville; siblings J. B. Farmer, Jean Hayes, Wilma Garrison, and Billie Franklin of Barbourville, Ky., and Marie Ebe of Springfield, Ill.; grandchildren Stacey A. Lawyer (Maggie Lange), Kimberly G. Webb (Stephen), Amy Wooley, and Chad Williams; and six great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were a son, Glendon Michael Miller; siblings Ilena Smith, Hester Valentine, Foister, Vernon, Cotton, Alonzo, and Ed Farmer.
Services are 2 p.m. Wednesday at Baker Funeral Home in Danville. Interment will follow at Danville South Cemetery.
Calling at the funeral home will be for three hours prior to the service.
