Viola F. “Vici” Weaver died Sunday at her Danville home. She was 94.
Born March 8, 1919, in Indianapolis, she was a daughter of Harrell V. and Bertha (Kletsche) Francisco. She married Hugh W. Weaver on Dec. 24, 1939, and he died Jan. 9, 2004.
She graduated from Arsenal Tech High School and attended Butler University. The Weavers were co-founders of the former Weaver Funeral Homes in Danville and Clayton.
Mrs. Weaver was an active member of Danville Christian Church where she served as an elder/deacon, a Sunday school teacher, and in the Women’s Christian Fellowship.
She organized the water aerobics program at Danville Community High School and wrote book reviews. She was also instrumental in organizing the Friends of the Library to benefit the Danville Public Library.
She was also active in Tri Kappa, Beta Chapter, the Browning Club, East Center Club, and Alpha Epsilon sorority.
Survivors include children Diane Roberts of Plainfield, Dr. Daniel (Lucy) Weaver of Jasper, and Debbie Weaver of Indianapolis; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death was a son, David H. Weaver.
Services are 2 p.m. Thursday at Danville Christian Church. Private entombment will be at Crown Hill Cemetery Mausoleum.
Calling is from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
