Margaret Ann Stockwell

Margaret Ann Stockwell of Bowling Green died April 28 at IU Health in Bloomington. She was 77.

Born April 29, 1935, in Montgomery County, she was a daughter of the late Kenneth and Harriet (Fulk) Hendershot.

Mrs. Stockwell was a 1953 graduate of Spencer High School. She retired as a supervisor of Data Processing for Public Service Indiana in Plainfield before moving to Owen County where she and her husband owned and operated Beamer Produce from 1993 to ’99.

She was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church  in Plainfield; and  since moving to Owen County, was a member of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Terre Haute.  She was also a member of the Plainfield Chapter of Tri-Kappa, the Plainfield  Jay-shes, and a supporter of the Junior Miss Program.

After moving to Bowling Green, she was active in the Owen County Republican Party. She enjoyed entertaining and spending time with children.

Mrs. Stockwell is survived by her husband of 58 years, Byron Allen Stockwell; a sister, Mary Jo Hendershot; a brother-in-law, Marcus Creech of Bowling Green; and a sister-in-law, Barbara Hendershot of Greenwood.

Preceding her in death were a brother, Daniel Hendershot, and a sister, Rachel Hendershot-Dayhuff.

Services are 5 p.m. May 4 at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 215 N. 7th St.,  Terre Haute, with the Rev. Mary Slenski officiating. Interment will follow at Mabley Garden.

Calling at the church is for an hour prior to the service.

West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home., 105 N. Montgomery St., Spencer, is handling arrangements.

Memorials may be made to  St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church for Mabley Garden.
