Suzanne Hunckler Eggers of Avon died April 14. She was 74.
Born June 28, 1939, in Chicago, she was the daughter of the late Suzanne (McCleish) and Michael Hunckler. She married Lester Eggers and he preceded her in death.
Mrs. Eggers was a graduate of St. Mary of the Woods and received her master’s in education from Indiana University. She was a member of the Sisters of Providence from 1957 to ‘72. She taught school for 45 years in the towns of Terre Haute; Plainfield (St. Susanna); Chicago; Monterey, Tenn.; and Indianapolis (Perry Township, St. Michael).
Survivors include her stepson, Dennis (Mary) Eggers; stepdaughter, Katherine (Ronald) Ng; siblings, Michael Hunckler, Kathleen (Chuck) Corbin, Mary Margaret (Duane) Coan; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; 11 nieces and nephews; 16 great nieces and nephews; and one great great nephew.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Raymond Hunckler.
Mrs. Eggers has donated her body to the IU Medical Center to help further cancer research.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. April 21 in St. Susanna Catholic Church, 1210 E. Main St. in Plainfield.
