Edna M. White of Arcadia, Fla

Edna M. White of Arcadia, Fla., and formerly of Plainfield, died Feb. 16. She was 86.

Mrs. White was born in Garred County, Ky.; she was the daughter of Samuel and Dorothy Cheek Hawley.

She moved to Florida from Indiana in 1968. She married Herbert White and he preceded her in death.

She had volunteered 15,000 hours at Desoto Memorial Hospital as an auxiliary member. She was a member of Pleasant Heights Baptist Church in Indiana and First Baptist Church of Arcadia.

She is survived by daughters, Brenda (Walter) Martin of Plainfield, Jacqueline (Phil) Murray of Greenwood; brother, “Bug” (Fairy) Hawley of Lexington, Ky.; grandchildren, Chuck, J.R., Stacy, Deana, Larry, Sarena; 19 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, F.H. Hawley, Bob Hawley, Vernon Hawley, and Joe Hawley.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Feb. 21 in Hall-Baker Funeral Home in Plainfield. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Feb. 20 in the funeral home.
