Alva “Al” Vassa Wallace Jr. of Clearwater, Fla, and formerly of Avon died Dec. 1. He was 94.
Mr. Wallace was raised in Rutledge, Ga., and attended Rutledge Public Schools. He married Rose Wallace and she survives. They were married for 54 years.
Mr. Wallace was a veteran of the United States Air Force having served during World War II. He was a banker, donut maker, and then purchasing agent with General Motors for 30 years.
He and his wife raised their family while living on the Westside of Indianapolis. He was a member of Chapel Rock Christian Church for many years before transferring his membership to Plainfield Christian Church while living in Avon.
Mr. Wallace was a member of Plainfield Masonic Lodge 653 for more than 50 years. He was also a member of the Indianapolis Valley of the Scottish Rite, and Murat Temple, Dramatic Cast.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters Debbie (Loy) Beer of Phoenix and Cindy (Wallace) Burger of Cincinnati; and son Gregg Wallace of Houston, Texas; nine grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
Mr. Wallace is buried in the Rutledge, Ga., family plot along with parents and brother, Morris T. Wallace.
