William S. Atkins of Indianapolis died Sunday at Indiana University Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was 65.
Born Nov. 14, 1947, in San Pedro, Calif., he was a son of the late Joseph and Ann (Adams) Atkins.
Mr. Atkins was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He worked as a professional carpenter and painter, most recently employed at the Community Church of Greenwood.
Survivors include daughters Jennifer (Steve) Huffman of Indianapolis, Melissa H. (Robert) Baldwin of Fishers, Monica (Kris) McHenry of Avon, Christy Atkins of Texas, and Amy Atkins of Brownsburg; a son, William L. (Deanna) Atkins of Indianapolis; brothers David (Donna) Atkins of Brownsburg, John (Janet) Atkins of Brownsburg, and Mark Atkins of California; a sister, Lola (Pat) O’Connor of California; grandchildren Nicki, Lizzie, Lucas, Joanna, Bradley, Cassandra, Sammy, Gracie, Miriam, Elyona, Kipper, and Lexi; and great grandchildren Clover, Juniper, and Clementine.
Preceding him in death was a brother, Joseph Atkins II.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Community Church of Greenwood, 1477 S. Main St., Greenwood, with the Rev. Bill Turner officiating.
