Doris B. Cassel of Wolcottville


Doris B. Cassel of Wolcottville died Feb. 4. She was 96.

Born March 20, 1917, in Hudson, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Emma (Wagoner) Clark. She was one of nine siblings and was raised by Jay and Perth Clark.

She married Norman E. Cassel on May 10, 1941. He preceded her in death in 1981.

Mrs. Cassel graduated from Salem Center High School and Methodist School of Nursing. She was a registered nurse and worked at Hendricks County Hospital (Hendricks Regional Health) and Garrett Hospital. She also did private duty nursing.

She was a member of Wolcottville United Methodist Church and Bible Study.

Survivors include her children, Norman Jay (Rita) Cassel, Patricia (Scott) Blaize, Don (Barb) Cassel, and Dale (Marina) Cassel; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Feb. 10at Wolcottville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jack Thomas officiating. Private family burial will be in Circle Cemetery in Hudson.

Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Feb. 9 in the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Wolcottville United Methodist Church or Hudson United Methodist Church.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home in Hudson.
