He married Virginia Anne Evans Kraft and she preceded him in death.

Mr. Kraft was a machinist for Allison’s and was a farmer. He enjoyed horses and was a professional and competitive rodeo rider. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, and Murat Shrine. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Plainfield.

Mr. Kraft was a four-year varsity basketball player at Ben Davis High School and was a friend of UCLA’s former coach John Wooden.

Survivors include a son, John (Kathie) Kraft Jr.; a daughter, Jennifer Kraft-Spivey; a sister, Joann (Fred) Trowbridge; six grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Timothy A. Kraft.

Services are at 10 a.m. Dec. 14 at the First Baptist Church of Plainfield. Burial will follow at Lincoln Memory Gardens.

Visitation will take place from 3 to 8 p.m. Dec. 13 at Conkle Funeral Home in Avon.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
